Check EPB actuator

  1. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. IG "ON".
  3. Perform "Actuator Control - Apply" and "Actuator Control - Release" in the "Actuation Test" with GDS.
  4. Monitor "Current (RH) " and "Current (LH) " parameter in the "Current Data" with GDS.

    Specification:  Apply: Approx. 7A, Release: Approx. 7A

  5. Is the parameter displayed within specification?

    YES 

    • Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and Control Module memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.
    • Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Substitute with a known-good EPB actuator and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace EPB actuator and if EPB actuator is replaced, apply and release EPB several times, then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
