CAN Communication Line Open Check

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect EPB ECU connector and Cluster connector.
  3. Measure resistance between CAN High terminal of EPB ECU harness connector and CAN High terminal of PCM harness connector.
  4. Measure resistance between CAN Low terminal of EPB ECU Harness connector and CAN Low terminal of PCM harness connector.

    Specification:  below 1Ω

  5. Is the measured value within specification?

    YES 

    • Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness. Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.
    • Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Substitute with a known-good Cluster and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace Cluster and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
