Control Circuit Inspection

  1. Ignition "OFF" & Disconnect Electric parking brake actuator (RH) connector.
  2. Ignition "ON".
  3. Measure voltage between pin No. 1 (motor+) terminal of electric parking brake actuator (RH) harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  see Illustration below (Max: approx. 7.4V, Min: 0V [duty (-) 33%])

  4. Is the measured value within specifications?

    YES 

    • Go to Next step procedure.

    NO 

  5. Disconnect EPB ECU connector.
  6. Measure resistance between pin No. 2 (motor-) terminal of electric parking brake actuator (RH) harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  ∞ Ω

  7. Measure resistance between pin No. 2 (motor-) terminal and pin No. 1 (motor+) terminal of Electric parking brake actuator (RH) harness connector.

    Specification:  ∞ Ω

  8. Is the measured value within specifications?

    YES 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If problem still occurs, replace electric parking brake actuator (LH) and then go to "System Inspection" procedure.

    NO
