CAN Communication Line Inspection (Ground Short Circuit)

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect auxiliary battery (-) terminal.
  3. Wait for more than 5 minutes so that the capacitor in the high voltage system can be naturally discharged.
  4. Disconnect EPB ECU connector.
  5. Measure resistance between Pin No. 24 (CAN high) of EPB ECU connector and chassis ground.
  6. Measure resistance between Pin No. 23 (CAN low) of EPB ECU connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  ∞

  7. Is the measured value within specifications?

    YES 

    • Fault might be intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or ECU's connector or was repaired and ECU memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
