CAN Communication Line Inspection

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect auxiliary battery (-) terminal.
  3. Wait for more than 5 minutes so that the capacitor in the high voltage system can be naturally discharged.
  4. Disconnect EPB and HCU connector.
  5. Measure resistance between Pin No. 24 (CAN high) of EPB connector and Pin No. 11 (CAN high) of HCU connector.
  6. Measure resistance between Pin No. 23 (CAN low) of EPB connector and Pin No. 12 (CAN low) of HCU connector.

    Specification:  Approx. 1Ω

  7. Is the measured value within specifications?

    YES 

    • Fault might be intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or ECU's connector or was repaired and ECU memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
