Repair procedures: Replacement: Notes

Rear Bumper Cover Replacement 

CAUTION:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces to protect from marring the surface.
  • Take care not to bend or scratch the cover and other parts.
  1. Remove the trunk trim.

    Refer to TRUNK TRIM .

  2. Disconnect the rear bumper main connector (A).

  3. Disconnect the connector (A), and then loosen the rear combination lamp mounting nuts.

  4. Remove the rear combination lamp (A) by hitting the part (C) with hand in the direction of arrow, because the rear combination lamp is hung on the lock pin (B).
    CAUTION:

    Be careful that the rear combination lamp can be damaged by dropping it.

  5. Remove the screw (A) and clip (B) mounted on upper of the rear bumper.

  6. Loosen the bolts (A) mounted on lower of the rear bumper.

  7. Loosen the screws (A) and clip (B) mounted on the rear bumper side.
    NOTE:

    Replace any damaged clips.

  8. Loosen the bolts (A) in the trunk.
  9. Push the lock pins (B) in the direction of arrow.

  10. Remove the rear bumper side (A) by pulling it carefully in the direction of arrow.
    CAUTION:

    Be sure not to damage the rear bumper side.

  11. Pull out the rear bumper cover (A) in the direction of arrow.

  12. Installation is the reverse of removal.
    NOTE:
    • Make sure the connector is plugged in properly.
    • Replace any damaged clips.
