General Information: General Description
The Seat Belt Pretensioner (BPT) is located at both sides of the center pillar.
The BPT tightens the seat belt before the airbag deploys, in order to protect the seat's occupant from bumping against the crash pad, steering wheel, and front window.
The BPT contains an ignition circuit and cylinder for rewinding the belt.
The Cylinder has a piston that rewinds the seat belt.
The gas chamber generates an expansive force of gases, which pushes the piston in the cylinder.
CAUTION:
Never measure resistance of BPT directly, since the current of the measuring device may cause unexpected BPT deployment.
