DTC 62: Driver PRETENSIONER Short To Battery

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Disconnect Air Bag Control Unit (ACU) connector and driver-side seat belt pretensioner connector. Check voltage between ground and terminals No. 1 (Light Green wire) and/or No. 2 (Orange wire) of ACU connector. See Figure. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, replace harness between ACU and pretensioner.
  2. Check voltage between terminal No. 1 (Light Green wire) and terminal No. 2 (Orange wire) of pretensioner connector and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If voltage exists, replace harness between ACU and pretensioner. If voltage does not exist, replace seat belt pretensioner. See SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
