Hydraulic Pressure Test

  1. Connect a commercially available vacuum gauge and pedal depression force gauge. Connect Fluid Pressure Gauge and Adapter (0KK30-140-001) to master cylinder outlet ports. See Figure . Bleed air from pressure tester hose.
  2. Ensure engine is stopped (vacuum 0 in. Hg. and 0 kPa). Depress the brake pedal with a force of 44 lbs. (20 kg). Observe and record fluid pressure. See POWER BRAKE BOOSTER PRESSURE TEST  table. If fluid pressure is within the specification, power brake booster is operating normally. Go to next step.
  3. Start the engine. Depress the brake pedal when the vacuum reaches 19.7 in. Hg (66.3 kPa). Depress the brake pedal with a force of 44 lbs. (20 kg). Observe and record fluid pressure. See POWER BRAKE BOOSTER PRESSURE TEST  table. If the fluid pressure is within the specification, power brake booster is operating normally. If indicated pressures are not as specified, replace power brake booster. See POWER BRAKE BOOSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
