XJR & XJ8

  1. To disable air bag system, turn ignition switch to LOCK position and remove key. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable. After disconnecting negative battery cable, wait at least 15 minutes before disconnecting the Single Point Sensing (SPS) unit and at least 2 minutes before disconnecting any other Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) component.
  2. To activate air bag system, ensure ignition switch is in LOCK position and key is removed. Connect negative battery cable. After repairs, ensure AIR BAG indicator light is operating properly and no system faults are indicated. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
