DTC 68: Passenger PRETENSIONER Open

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Disconnect Air Bag Diagnostic Unit (ADU) connector and passenger-side seat belt pretensioner connector. Check continuity of Black wire between terminal No. 3 of ADU connector and terminal No. 1 of seat belt pretensioner connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If continuity does not exist, replace harness between ADU and pretensioner. If continuity exists, go to next step.
  2. Check continuity of White wire between terminal No. 4 of ADU connector and terminal No. 2 of seat belt pretensioner connector. If continuity does not exist, replace harness between ADU and pretensioner. If continuity exists, replace seat belt pretensioner. See SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
