Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)

SRS also known as air bag system, is designed to provide increased accident protection for driver and front seat passenger by deploying air bags in a front-end collision. The air bag system is designed to be used in conjunction with 3-point safety belts.

The air bag system includes the following components: driver and passenger-side air bag modules, driver-side knee air bag module, clockspring, AIR BAG warning light, Air Bag Diagnostic Unit (ADU), associated SRS wiring harnesses and impact bracket (located between front bumper reinforcement and frame mounted initiator).
