DTC55: Driver Module Short

NOTE: Refer to wiring diagram and Air Bag Diagnostic Unit (ADU) connector identification when diagnosing faults. See Figure & Figure .
  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Disconnect Air Bag Diagnostic Unit (ADU) connector. Disconnect clockspring-to-air bag module connector. Check for continuity between clockspring connector terminals No. 2 and No. 3. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace driver-side air bag module. See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Disconnect harness-to-clockspring connector. Check continuity between terminals No. 2 (Yellow-Red wire) and No. 3 (Red wire) of harness connector. If continuity exists, replace wire harness between ADU and harness-to-clockspring connector. If continuity does not exist, replace clockspring. See CLOCKSPRING  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
