DTC 68: Passenger PRETENSIONER Open

NOTE: Refer to wiring diagram and Air Bag Diagnostic Unit (ADU) connector identification when diagnosing faults. See Figure & Figure .
  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Disconnect Air Bag Diagnostic Unit (ADU) connector and passenger-side seat belt pretensioner connector. Check for continuity between terminal No. 3 (Black wire) of ADU connector and terminal No. 1 (Black wire) of seat belt pretensioner connector. If continuity does not exist, replace harness between ADU and pretensioner. If continuity exists, go to next step.
  2. Check for continuity between terminal No. 4 (White wire) of ADU connector and terminal No. 2 (White wire) of seat belt pretensioner connector. If continuity does not exist, replace harness between ADU and pretensioner. If continuity exists, replace seat belt pretensioner. See SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
