DTC 64: Driver PRETENSIONER Open

NOTE: Refer to wiring diagram and Air Bag Diagnostic Unit (ADU) connector identification when diagnosing faults. See Figure & Figure .
  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Disconnect Air Bag Diagnostic Unit (ADU) connector and driver-side seat belt pretensioner connector. Check for continuity between terminal No. 1 (Light Green wire) of ADU connector and terminal No. 1 (Light Green) of seat belt pretensioner harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If continuity does not exist, replace harness from ADU to pretensioner. If continuity exists, go to next step.
  2. Check for continuity between terminal No. 2 (Orange wire) of ADU connector and terminal No. 2 (Orange wire) of seat belt pretensioner harness connector. If continuity does not exist, replace harness between ADU and pretensioner. If continuity exists, replace pretensioner. See SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
