DTC 62: Driver PRETENSIONER Short To Battery

NOTE: Refer to wiring diagram and Air Bag Diagnostic Unit (ADU) connector identification when diagnosing faults. See Figure & Figure .
  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Disconnect Air Bag Diagnostic Unit (ADU) connector and driver-side seat belt pretensioner connector. Check for battery voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Light Green wire) and-or terminal No. 2 (Orange wire) of ADU connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery voltage exists, replace harness between ADU and pretensioner. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  2. Check for battery voltage between terminal No. 1 (Light Green wire) and terminal No. 2 (Orange wire) of pretensioner connector and ground. If voltage exists, replace harness between ADU and pretensioner. If voltage does not exist, replace pretensioner. See SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
