DTC 54: Driver Module Short To Battery

Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Disconnect ADU connector and wire harness-to-clockspring connector. Measure voltage between ADU connector terminal No. 10 (Yellow-Black wire) and ground. See Figure. Measure voltage between ADU connector terminal No. 11 (Yellow-Red wire) and ground. If voltage is present in either circuit, replace wire harness between ADU connector and clockspring. If voltage is not present, go to next step.
Remove driver-side air bag module. See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure voltage between clock spring connector terminal No. 2 (Yellow-Red wire) and ground. Measure voltage between clock spring connector terminal No. 1 (Yellow-Black wire) and ground. If voltage is present in either circuit, replace clockspring assembly. See CLOCKSPRING under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If voltage is not present in either circuit, replace driver-side air bag module.
