Rack & Pinion Assembly: Removal
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Raise and support front of vehicle. Remove front wheels. Remove cotter pins and castle nuts. Using Puller (OK130-283-021), separate tie rod ends from steering knuckles.
- Remove bracket fixed to pipes and gear box. Disconnect high pressure line and return line. Remove 2 universal joint pinch bolts and intermediate shaft pinch bolt. Remove 4 steering column nuts from vehicle, and then remove sealing cover.
- Loosen 2 steering rack nuts. Remove change control rod and extension bar from transaxle. Remove steering rack from right side of vehicle.
