Valve Seats

  1. To remove valve seats, cut valve seat from the inside to reduce wall thickness. Remove valve seat. Re-bore valve seat hole to designated dimension. See Fig 1. See OVERSIZED VALVE SEAT SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  2. Cool NEW oversize valve seat in a freezer before pressing replacement seat into cylinder head. Press NEW oversize valve seat into cylinder head. Ensure NEW valve seat bottoms in combustion chamber. Cut valve seat to correct angle and seat width. See Fig 1. See VALVES AND VALVE SPRINGS  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
