Installation (1.5L)

  1. Install timing belt around crankshaft sprocket first, then camshaft sprocket, and then tensioner pulley, ensuring there is no slack on tension side of timing belt. Apply counterclockwise force to camshaft sprocket to ensure timing belt is fully tensioned. Ensure all timing marks are aligned.
  2. Loosen tensioner adjusting bolt to apply tension to timing belt. Rotate crankshaft clockwise 2 revolutions and ensure all timing marks are aligned. See Figure. Install timing belt covers. Install oil dipstick tube. Install crankshaft pulley.
  3. Install front engine mount with "F" arrow pointing up. See Figure. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
