- Disconnect fuel pump/sending unit connector located at fuel tank access cover. Using a fused jumper wire, ground Green/White wire. Turn ignition on. Fuel gauge should read full. If fuel gauge does not read full, check for open or short in fuel gauge sending unit wiring harness. If fuel gauge reads full, go to next step.
- Remove fuel tank access cover. Disconnect fuel pump/sending unit connector from fuel pump/sending unit. Measure resistance between Green/White wire and Black wire terminals while moving fuel lever float from full to empty. See Fig 1. If resistance is not as specified, replace fuel gauge sending unit.
