Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
This DTC is set when the APP Sensor values are learned in-plant but do not reach the minimum or maximum voltage range.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
Is the DTC active or pending?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to: 2.0L - INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK FOR OTHER DTCS
- Refer to the recorded DTCs.
Are there any other APP Sensor or 5-Volt Supply DTCs active or pending?
Yes
- Perform the applicable diagnostic procedure(s). Refer to: 2.0L - DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
No
- Go To 3
- Refer to the recorded DTCs.
- CHECK THE APP SENSOR FOR PROPER OPERATION
- With a scan tool perform the ETC RELEARN function.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Start the engine.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
Is the DTC active or pending?
Yes
- Replace the APP Sensor in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to: PEDAL, ACCELERATOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . After installation is complete, perform the ETC RELEARN function.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to: 2.0L - POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Test complete.
