Functional Description - Coolant Control Valve

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Coolant Control Valve is a 12V DC powered valve that controls coolant flow through the Electric Coolant Heater (ECH). The valve directs coolant flow through the ECH when commanded. The valve has two coolant ports, coolant inlet and coolant outlet. Coolant is routed from the engine to the coolant valve inlet. The coolant valve contains a valve that can allow or block coolant outlet flow and is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The coolant valve contains no serviceable components and is serviced as a complete assembly.
