Checking Engine Oil Pressure

  1. Remove the engine oil pressure and temperature sensor. Refer to: ENGINE SENSORS, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Install the Engine Oil Pressure Adapter [special tool # 10282] and the Oil Pressure Gauge [special tool # C-3292A].

  3. Start the engine and record the reading on the oil pressure gauge.
    NOTE:

    If the oil pressure is 0 at idle, shut off the engine. 

  4. After the check is complete, remove the oil pressure gauge and the adapter.
  5. Install the engine oil pressure and temperature sensor. Refer to: ENGINE SENSORS, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
