Diagnostic Overview - Hood Ajar Switches

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) must detect both Hood Ajar Switches in the open state (hood closed) for the Remote Start and Engine Stop/Start (ESS) systems to operate. The switch states should always match if both switches are functioning properly.
