Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    WARNING:

    On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, you must thoroughly read and follow all High Voltage Safety procedures. In addition, before performing any diagnostic or service procedure near a high voltage component, you must perform the High Voltage Power Down. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

    Read the HIGH-VOLTAGE SAFETY PROCEDURES. Refer to  HIGH VOLTAGE SAFETY PROCEDURES  . 

    When the HIGH-VOLTAGE POWER-DOWN PROCEDURE is necessary. Refer to  HIGH VOLTAGE POWER DOWN  . 

    1. With the scan tool, read Battery Pack Control Module (BPCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
    2. Record the Freeze Frame Data (If available), Event Data (If available), and Environmental Data.
    3. With the scan tool, check for active DTCs.

      Is this DTC active?

      Yes 

      • Go to Next Step.

      No 

  2. CHECK FOR OTHER BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) DTCS 
    1. Check for BPCM DTCs P0AE1-00, P0C77-00, P0C78-00, P0AD9-00, or P0AE4-00.

      Are any of these BPCM DTCs present?

      Yes 

      • 10 minute penalty timer activated to prevent pre-charge resistor damage. Do not turn ignition on or cycle the ignition. Wait until the 10 minute timer expires.
      • Perform the BPCM diagnostic test.
      • Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to HV VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Go to Next Step.
  3. CHECK FOR WAKE-UP AND IGNITION CIRCUIT RELATED DTCS 
    1. Refer to the recorded scan report. Check for any Wake-Up or Ignition RUN or RUN/START DTCs.

      Are any of these DTCs present?

      Yes 

      • Perform the diagnostic test.
      • Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to HV VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Test complete.
      • Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to HV VERIFICATION TEST .
