Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) Sensor signal is transmitted to the Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) over the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus from the Body Control Module (BCM). If this DTC is set, the BCM will also have a DTC set for this sensor. The HCP is internally located in the Power Inverter Module (PIM) and is not serviced separately.
