Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE CONDITION
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Press the Fuel Door Switch to release the Fuel Door.NOTE:
This will cause the PCM to command the Fuel Door Unlock Driver Circuit to close and allow the diagnostic to run.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the DTC present?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to: 2.0L - INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE FUEL DOOR FOR ANY DAMAGE OR OBSTRUCTIONS
- Visually inspect the Fuel Door for any damage or obstructions that may cause the Fuel Door not to open.
Were any issues found with the Fuel Door?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate repair.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to: 2.0L - POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Fuel Door Unlock Solenoid in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to: 2.0L - POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
- Visually inspect the Fuel Door for any damage or obstructions that may cause the Fuel Door not to open.
