Battery Coolant Heater: Notes

REMOVAL 

  1. Power down the high voltage system. Refer to: HIGH VOLTAGE POWER DOWN .
  2. Loosen the cap on the battery cooling system pressurized coolant bottle to relieve any residual pressure.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to: HOISTING .
  4. Remove the transmission skid plate. Refer to: PHEV - TRANSMISSION SKID PLATE .
  5. Remove the left side skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Remove the transmission crossmember support. Refer to CROSSMEMBER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. Drain the battery cooling system. Refer to: BATTERY COOLING SYSTEM - DRAINING .
  8. Remove the Integrated Dual Charging Module (IDCM). Refer to MODULES, HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  9. Remove the Battery Coolant Heater (BCH) bolts and lift up on the BCH for access to the coolant hoses.

  10. Disconnect the BCH inlet coolant hose.

    2 - BCH Outlet Coolant Hose
  11. Disconnect the BCH outlet coolant hose.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
