Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Radiator Cooling Fan is supplied with a fused 12 volt circuit and a ground circuit. The Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) controls the Radiator Cooling Fan speed with a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) command via a Control Circuit. The HCP monitors the PWM Control circuit and will set a DTC indicating the nature of the fault. The Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) is internally located in the Power Inverter Module (PIM) and is not serviced separately.
