Rear Seat Reminder Alert (RSRA)
| Refer to COMPONENT INDEX . |
The RSRA system, when enabled through customer configurable settings in the radio, will consider the presence of an object in the rear seat when a rear entry/exit door is opened at the beginning of each key cycle as detected by the BCM. It is important to note that this is how the BCM decides on an object, not by a weight detected in a rear seat. When the potential presence of an object is determined and/or otherwise inferred, an pop-up message and chime will appear in the IPC display reminding the driver to check the rear seat(s) immediately after key off. When the system is disabled through customer configurable settings in the radio, the system will provide a periodic reminder to the customer informing them of RSRA being disabled. The BCM will also disable the system after several key cycle alerts and the object has not been removed from the rear seat.
The system can also alert the customer through the mobile application or by SMS text messaging. When either is activated, the Telematics Box Module (TBM) is responsible for emitting the alert to either option when signalled by the BCM to do so.
