Diagnostic Test
- READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, run a Vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
- With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To Next Step.
No
- Perform the appropriate INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- VERIFY COMMUNICATION WITH BCM
- With the scan tool, read the active modules on the bus.
Does the scan tool show the BCM active on the bus?
Yes
- Go To Next Step.
No
- Refer to NO RESPONSE FROM ECU and perform the No Response From BCM diagnostic procedure.
- With the scan tool, read the active modules on the bus.
- CHECK THE VEHICLE CONFIGURATION INFORMATION WITH SCAN TOOL
- With the scan tool run an ECU Details Report, compare the Original and Current VINs, and the Body Style of the vehicle.
Does the information displayed match the vehicle?
Yes
- Replace the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To Next Step.
- With the scan tool run an ECU Details Report, compare the Original and Current VINs, and the Body Style of the vehicle.
- PERFORM PROXI-ALIGNMENT PROCEDURE
- With the scan tool, perform the proxi-alignment procedure.
- Disconnect test equipment, turn the ignition off, allow the vehicle to sleep 5 minutes, then turn ignition back on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B222D-00 - ECU UNABLE TO CONFIGURE/CONFIGURATION NOT LEARNED- as active?
Yes
- Replace the Amplifier in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to AMPLIFIER (AMP), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. If no problems are found, test complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
