Sunshade Re-TENSIONING
NOTE:
Once the spring loaded pin is pressed to release the sunshade from the frame do not fully remove the sunshade until the spring tension on the shade is locked. Use care when removing the sunshade, by applying light pulling pressure to the steel locking pin while rotating the sunshade barrel forward. The plastic end feature of the barrel will rotate from the 12 o'clock position to the 3 o'clock position if done correctly allowing the lock pin to extend out of the barrel locking the spring tension of the sunshade. If the sunshade spring lock is released before it engages in the internal slot, the sunshade has to be reset.
NOTE:
Use clean gloves or make sure your hands are clean before re-tensioning the sunshade.
- Press in on the end of the locking shaft, this will make sure the spring is completely unwound.
- Install the sunshade shaft into a vise and secure.
- Rotate the sunshade counter-clockwise 22 times.
1 - Paper Clip or Equivalent 2 - Locking Shaft - Lock the sunshade by installing the pin through the locking shaft as shown in the illustration. If the sunshade is not locked, it will unravel and you will have to repeat this procedure.
