Theory Of Operation

Actuators on the QUAD Zone HVAC System utilize a 4 Circuit Actuator; 2 LIN Signal Circuits and 2 Driver Circuits. Actuators on the DUAL Zone HVAC System utilize a 5 Circuit Actuator; 2 LIN Signal Circuits, 2 Driver Circuits and a 5 Volt Supply. The position signal is used by the HVAC Module to monitor the door position in both the QUAD and DUAL Zone HVAC Systems. If the desired positions cannot be reached during normal operation, a DTC will set. All of the circuits are also monitored, either directly or indirectly, for open/short circuit faults.
