Torque Specifications - Cylinder Head

TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS - CYLINDER HEAD

Valve Cover to Cylinder Head Stud Bolts
Valve Cover to Cylinder Head Bolts
12 N.m (9 Ft. Lbs.) in sequence  Tighten in sequence
(Stud bolts in positions 8, 14, 17, 23 and 24)

2 Camshaft Cap Bolts Torque Procedure: 
  • Step 1 - Hand tighten all bolts in sequence 
  • Step 2 - Torque bolts to 11 N.m (8 Ft. Lbs.) in sequence 
Tightening Sequence

4 Cylinder Head to Engine Block Torque Procedure: 
  • Step 1 - Tighten bolts to 35 N.m (26 Ft. Lbs.) in sequence 
  • Step 2 - Tighten bolts to 55 N.m (41 Ft. Lbs.) in sequence 
  • Step 3 - Verify all bolts are torqued to 55 N.m (41 Ft. Lbs.) in sequence 
  • Step 4 - Using a torque angle gauge, torque all bolts an additional 150° in sequence 
Tightening Sequence
Use NEW  bolts.
