Left Exhaust Tailpipe Resonator: Notes

REMOVAL
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Saturate the exhaust clamp nuts with Mopar® Rust Penetrant. Allow 5 minutes for penetration.
- Remove the spare tire heat shield. Refer to SPARE TIRE HEAT SHIELD .
- Remove the resonator/tailpipe bracket bolts.
1 - Exhaust Isolator 2 - Resonator/Tailpipe Bracket Bolts - Remove the exhaust isolator bolt.
- Loosen the exhaust clamp.
1 - Exhaust Resonator/Tailpipe to Muffler Clamp 2 - Exhaust Resonator/Tailpipe 3 - Exhaust Isolator Bolts - Remove the exhaust isolator bolts.
- Remove the left exhaust resonator/tailpipe.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Install the right exhaust resonator/tailpipe and securely tighten the exhaust resonator/tailpipe to muffler clamp.
- Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. A minimum of 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) is required between the exhaust system components and body/frame parts. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
- Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary. Refer to LEAK TESTING .
