Filling The Low Temperature Cooling System
ANTIFREEZE COOLANT IS HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED OR INHALED. IF SWALLOWED, DRINK TWO GLASSES OF WATER AND INDUCE VOMITING. IF INHALED, MOVE TO FRESH AIR AREA. SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT STORE IN OPEN OR UNMARKED CONTAINERS. WASH SKIN AND CLOTHING THOROUGHLY AFTER COMING IN CONTACT WITH ETHYLENE GLYCOL. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. DISPOSE OF GLYCOL BASED COOLANT PROPERLY. CONTACT YOUR DEALER OR GOVERNMENT AGENCY FOR LOCATION OF COLLECTION CENTER IN YOUR AREA. DO NOT OPEN A COOLING SYSTEM WHEN THE ENGINE IS AT OPERATING TEMPERATURE OR HOT UNDER PRESSURE; PERSONAL INJURY CAN RESULT. AVOID RADIATOR COOLING FAN AND OTHER MOVING COMPONENTS WHEN ENGINE COMPARTMENT RELATED SERVICE IS PERFORMED; PERSONAL INJURY CAN RESULT.
WEAR APPROPRIATE EYE AND HAND PROTECTION WHEN PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE.
Fill the low temperature cooling system with the recommended MOPAR Antifreeze Coolant. Refer to CAPACITIES AND RECOMMENDED FLUIDS, SPECIFICATIONS .
FILL AND BLEED COOLING SYSTEM USING THE SCAN TOOL
- Fill the low temperature pressurized coolant bottle to the max level.
- Cycle the ignition to the on position.
- Using the scan tool, run the "Low Temp Coolant Fill Active Pump" actuator to run the coolant pumps.
- Continue adding coolant to the low temperature pressurized coolant bottle maintaining the coolant at the max level.
- When no more coolant is needed the system is filled and bled.
- Stop the scan tool actuation.
FILL AND BLEED COOLING SYSTEM WITHOUT THE SCAN TOOL
- Fill the low temperature pressurized coolant bottle to the max level.
- Cycle the key to the on position to power the coolant pumps in order to fill and bleed the low temperature cooling system.
- Cycle the key to the off position after the pump times out and stops running.
- Fill the low temperature pressurized coolant bottle to the max level.
- Repeat the fill procedure until the proper coolant level is achieved.
