Standard Procedure: Draining

When servicing the cooling system, it is essential that coolant does not drip onto the accessory drive belts or pulleys. Shield the belts with shop towels before working on the cooling system. If coolant contacts the belts or pulleys, flush both with clean water.

NOTE:

DO NOT WASTE reusable coolant. If the solution is clean, drain the coolant into a clean retainer for reuse.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

    1 - Low Temperature Radiator Inlet Hose
    2 - Low Temperature Radiator Outlet Hose
  2. Position a drain pan under the low temp radiator outlet hose.
  3. Disconnect the low temperature radiator outlet hose and drain the low temperature cooling system.
  4. Once the system is completely drained, connect the low temperature radiator outlet hose.
