Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L and 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Fuel Pressure Sensor is a three wire, 5-Volt sensor using a 5-Volt Supply, Sensor Ground, and Pressure Sensor Signal through the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The signal voltage will vary lower and higher with fuel line pressure, respectively. The circuit low and high faults are designed to detect a short or open in a circuit to the Fuel Pressure Sensor, while the Performance fault is designed to detect an irrational variation in the measured fuel pressure.
