Fuel Injector Seal Replacement

- Check the diameter of the injector using the (special tool #2025505140, Pliers, Injector Seal Removal) as shown.
1 - Injector Seal Remover Pliers 2 - Injector Seal CAUTION:Before attempting to remove the fuel injector seals, verify that the tool is properly aligned on the seal being removed, or damage to the fuel injector will result.
NOTE:Verify the alignment of the tool before cutting the seal.
- Position and align the injector seal remover pliers onto the seal being removed and cut the seal. Do this for both seals.
- If the injector seal remover pliers didn't cut the seal enough then use (special tool #2025506140, Pliers, Injector Seal Side Cutter) to cut the seal.
- Clean the groves and inspect the fuel injector.
1 - Injector 2 - Injector Seal 3 - Injector Seal Installer Cone 2080001140 - Position the injector seal installer cone 2080001140 onto the injector and then the seal onto the cone.
1 - Seal Installer 2080003140 - Position the seal installer 2080003140 onto cone then install the upper seal onto the injector.
1 - Injector Seal - Adjust and verify that the injector seal is properly seated in the grove.
1 - Injector Seal Calibration (Initial) Tool 2080004140 - Position the injector seal calibration (initial) tool 2080004140 to re-size the upper injector seal.
1 - Injector Seal Calibration (Final) Tool 2080005140 - Positing the injector seal calibration (final) tool 2080005140 to size the upper injector seal by using a twisting motion pushing it on.
- Verify that the seal is sitting properly in the grove and is not damaged. If the seal was damaged during the final sizing, then it must be replaced.
1 - Injector 2 - Injector Seal 3 - Injector Seal Installer Cone 2080002140 - Position the injector seal installer cone 2080002140 onto the injector and then the seal onto the cone.
1 - Seal Installer 2080003140 - Position the seal installer 2080003140 onto cone then install the lower seal onto the injector.
1 - Injector Seal - Adjust and verify that the injector seal is properly seated in the grove.
1 - Injector Seal Calibration (Initial) Tool 2080004140 - Position the injector seal calibration (initial) tool 2080004140 to re-size the lower injector seal.
1 - Injector Seal Calibration (Final) Tool 2080005140 - Position the injector seal calibration (final) tool 2080005140 to size the lower injector seal by using a twisting motion pushing it on.
- Verify that the seal is sitting properly in the grove and is not damaged. If the seal was damaged during the final sizing, then it must be replaced.
- Use the (special tool #2025504140, Pick, Injector Seal 90 Degree) tool, remove the injector upper O-ring from the top of the fuel injector and discard.
- Use the Injector Seal 90 Degrees Pick to remove the injector upper cup seal from the top of the fuel injector and discard.
1 - Cup Seal - Install a NEW
cup seal with the cup facing down.
1 - O-ring - Install the NEW injector upper O-ring to the top of the fuel injector.
- If removed, install the fuel injector back into the rail as outlined in the fuel injector removal/install procedure.
