Road Testing
- If the concern involved low brake pedal, pump the pedal and note if it comes back up to normal height.
- Check the brake pedal response with the transmission in neutral and engine running. The pedal should remain firm under constant foot pressure.
- During the road test, make normal and firm brake stops in the 40-65 km/h (25-40 mph) range. Note problematic brake operation such as low pedal, hard pedal, fade, pedal pulsation, pull, grab, drag, noise, and others.
- Attempt to stop the vehicle with the parking brake only (do not exceed 40 km/h [25 mph]) and note grab, drag, noise, and others.
