Red Brake Warning Indicator

CONDITION POSSIBLE CAUSES CORRECTION
RED BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ON 1. Parking brake not fully released.
2. Parking brake warning lamp circuit malfunction.
3. Brake fluid level low in reservoir.
4. Brake fluid level switch.
5. Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) problem.
6. Amber brake warning lamp also illuminated.
7. Electric park brake is not released (if equipped).		 1. Check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)s.
2. Inspect the parking brake warning lamp circuit integrity and operation.
3. Fill the brake fluid reservoir. Check entire system for leaks. Repair or replace as required.
4. Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor wire harness connector. If the lamp goes out, replace switch.
5. Refer to the appropriate diagnostic information.
6. Refer to the appropriate diagnostic information.
7. Check the Electric Park Brake (EPB) switch position (if equipped).
