Theory Of Operation - Amplifier (Amp)

When the vehicle is configured for use with an external Amplifier, the Radio audio output circuits act as audio inputs for the Amplifier. Based on the user input, the Radio communicates the volume adjustment via bus message. Based on the volume adjustment bus message, the Amplifier increases or decrease output to the speakers. To successfully boot, the Amplifier requires load capable Battery feed and Ground along with Ignition equal to run Can Bus message. With the Ignition set to run, the Amplifier monitors input Battery Voltage, Can Bus messages and the Speaker output circuits for fault criteria. When Set conditions are met, the Amplifier will log Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC).
