Ignition Control System: Notes
DESCRIPTION
The Ignition Control system consists of the following components: The Ignition System Control Module (ISCM) directly controls the dwell and firing of the ignition coils based on inputs from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The three knock sensors must be installed on the engine in the original orientation when they are removed and re-installed.

The ignition coils are grouped into two banks. Bank 1 consists of ignition coils 1-3. Bank 2 consists of ignition coils 4-6. The ISCM provides a common supply voltage, and individual control circuit to the three ignition coils for each bank.
