Display Screen Module
| Refer to COMPONENT INDEX . |
The IPC allocates a region of its display to show audio and telematics information metadata as well as phone call status display. The DSM sends spontaneous translated text string values over the CAN bus to the IPC via the BCM. The IPC will use these values to determine what to display on the IPC. In effect, the IPC is mirroring the DSM values.
If the IPC detects an out of sequence condition between the DSM and itself or does not receive complete message sequences within two seconds of the receiving the first data message, the IPC will dump all current information and time out for five seconds. During this time the IPC displays an "updating" message to the customer until the IPC is able to collect new data for displaying.
The DSM saves the HUD content settings for up to six user profiles. The DSM recalls the saved HUD user profiles when requested by the customer through the touch screen. When the user selects "Save" after customizing the HUD display, the DSM saves the values to the current user profile. When the value of a saved request changes, the DSM recalls the saved values and transmits the updated values over the CAN to the IPC.
