The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects a difference between the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Temperature Sensor and either the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor reading or Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) Sensor reading is greater than 15°C (59°F).
