Exhaust Pipe: Notes

REMOVAL
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the front PHEV front skid plate brace. Refer to PHEV - FRONT SKID PLATE BRACE .
- Saturate the exhaust flange bolts with Mopar® rust penetrant. Allow 5 minutes for penetration.
- Loosen the exhaust resonator/muffler clamp nut and separate the exhaust resonator/muffler assembly from the exhaust pipe.
1 - Exhaust Resonator/Muffler Clamp Nut 2 - Exhaust Resonator/Muffler Assembly - Remove the exhaust isolator bolt.
1 - Exhaust Isolator Bolt - Remove the exhaust pipe to catalytic converter nuts and the exhaust pipe.
1 - Exhaust Pipe To Catalytic Converter Nuts 2 - Exhaust Pipe - Remove and discard the gasket.

INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Install a NEW gasket on the catalytic converter.
- Make sure the muffler/tailpipe are correctly positioned and properly aligned. The minimum clearance between components is 25.4 mm (1 in.) is required.
- Start the vehicle and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary. Refer to LEAK TESTING .
