Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC WARNING:
On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, you must thoroughly read and follow all High Voltage Safety procedures. In addition, before performing any diagnostic or service procedure near a high voltage component, you must perform the High Voltage Power Down. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
Read the HIGH-VOLTAGE SAFETY PROCEDURES. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE SAFETY PROCEDURES .
When the HIGH-VOLTAGE POWER-DOWN PROCEDURE is necessary. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE POWER DOWN .
- With the scan tool, read Battery Pack Control Module (BPCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
- Record the Freeze Frame Data (If available), Event Data (If available), and Environmental Data.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK HV FUSES NOTE:
If HV Fuse DTCs are set, perform the appropriate diagnostic test before proceeding.
Check the PIM and HV Battery Pack fuses for an open.
Are any HV fuses open?
Yes
- Replace the faulty component in accordance with the fuse table above.
- Once the short has been found and repaired. Replace the Primary and Secondary High Voltage Battery Packs in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to HV VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Perform High Voltage Isolation Test and repair short in High Voltage circuits or a faulty HV component. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE LOSS OF ISOLATION TEST PROCEDURE .
- Replace the High Voltage Battery Pack in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to HV VERIFICATION TEST .
