Input Shaft Seal: Notes

REMOVAL

Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Remove the transmission. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

1 - Input Shaft Seal
Using a suitable tool, remove the input shaft seal.
NOTE:
Take care not to mar or damage the sealing surface during the seal removal.

INSPECTION AND CLEANING

Cleaning

Clean and inspect the seal sealing surface.

INSTALLATION

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

Use the (special tool #2054000210, Installer, Seal Output Shaft) to install a NEW input shaft seal.
Check the transmission fluid level and add as necessary. Refer to CHECK FLUID LEVEL .
