EGR Cooler: Notes

REMOVAL 

  1. Power down the high voltage system. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE POWER DOWN .
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING .
  3. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove the retainers securing the high voltage cables to the turbocharger lines.
  5. Remove the two turbocharger oil return line bolts.

  6. Remove the EGR cooler coolant outlet hose from the EGR cooler.

  7. Remove the lower turbocharger supply line bolt at engine block.
  8. Remove the bolts and the low pressure EGR cooler.
  9. Remove the O-ring and the gasket of the low pressure EGR cooler.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
